Daily Duties at Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office:

Sergeant – Community Services (Crime Prevention / Youth Services) – Supervise members of the various units within the Community Services Division, to include: School Resource Officers (SRO’s), Police Athletic League (PAL), Explorer Program, Truancy Interdiction Program (TIP’s), Juvenile First Offender Program (JFO), Crime Prevention, Serious Habitual Offenders Compensative Action Program (SHOCAP), Special Projects, and Volunteer Citizens Observers Patrol (COP’s) Sergeant – Organized Crime Bureau – Supervise members of the Organized Crime Bureau Street Team to include: evaluations, commendations, tactical officer safety protocol, issuance of equipment and investigative funds. Sergeant - Internal Affairs -Investigate allegations of employee misconduct, with an emphasis on PBSO rules/regulations. Provide security for the Criminal Justice Complex. Sergeant - Wellington Road Patrol - Supervise day-to-day operations associated with uniform patrol activities; to include CADS, Oracle entries for scheduling, line up briefings, training, and counseling. Traffic Unit Motorcycle Officer- routine police and patrol duties with an emphasis on traffic related issues. Like the enforcement of traffic laws, investigation of motor vehicle crashes, (minor thru fatalities). Provide Motorcade escorts for dignitaries, Parades and Honor Guard activities. Traffic Unit Motorcycle Officer Instructor- To teach Police Officers basic motorcycle skills that develops coordination, balance control, and the confidence necessary for proficient operation and to familiarize them with the handling characteristics of a police motorcycle. Also students are taught proper highway and enforcement riding skills, traffic stops, escorts, dignitary and parade riding. Agent, Organized Crime Bureau- investigated illegal narcotic activities and vice related offences. Worked undercover making hand to hand buys of illegal narcotics. Wrote and served Search and Arrest warrants. Handled informants and conducted surveillances. Was assigned to U.S. Customs to assist in undercover operations. Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) University of North Florida. Adjunct Instructor - Teach as an adjunct Instructor for (IPTM) their Police Motorcycle Instructor course, which is held in Jacksonville, FL.- Lake Worth, FL. and St Petersburg, FL. This course is for Police Officers who have already completed a basic rider’s course with an emphasis on instructor development. He/She is then provided with the information, techniques, and skills necessary to research, develop, and conduct a training course for their prospective agencies. Deputy Sheriff, Road Patrol- routine police and patrol duties. From investigating civil non-law enforcement complaints to crimes of robbery, homicide, burglary, auto theft, ECT. Enforced State laws as well as County Ordinance violations.
