Daily Duties at Gibbs College:

Full Time Librarian Assistant (2007-2009) • Planned and created an effective library instruction program and integrated the use of print, media, and electronic sources into the college curriculum. Provided reference service in all academic areas within the college’s programs. Worked with several departments in developing library collections. Provided general and subject specific instruction by creating instructional materials and web pages. Participated in evening and weekend duties and activities. • Managed the college’s satellite campus library and implemented the Mandarin computerized library system at this campus. Developed with instructors and tutors a plan of action to correct each student’s deficiencies. Provided supporting materials to aid in the student’s capabilities and accomplishments. College Adjunct Instructor (2001-2009) • Taught and supervised in the following subject areas at the college: College Algebra, Computer Project Design, Visual.net (Basic, C++), MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Business Communication, Office Systems, and Information Literacy classes. • Implemented a Computerized Math Lab for the Developmental Math and College Algebra classes and trained faculty how to use these labs. In addition, managed Keyboarding Labs which after three semesters enabled a beginning typing student to type 55 words per minute with no more than 3 errors.

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social.
