Daily Duties at Vitacost:
My role with Vitacost began as a liaison for the company’s offerings and Brazilian customers, as Brazil was one of their largest international clients and I speak fluent Portuguese. This included handling their social media presence in Portuguese and researching the most popular products in the Brazilian market and creating social media advertisements for those products. The Director soon realized that I have a knack for conflict resolution and appointed me as the point of contact for corporate escalation calls. I received recognition for efficiency in completing tasks prior to deadline with accuracy, which improved workflow for other departments. Along with the Marketing Manager, I developed social media strategies to increase website traffic and to improve return customers. Reason for Leaving: One of my family members lived in Lima, Ohio at the time, and his health had taken a turn for the worse. Our entire rest of the family lived in the South, and seeing as I had recently finished my Bachelor’s, I was in the best position to provide assistance. Therefore, I moved to Lima, Ohio temporarily while I aided in his recovery.
What they like about Vitacost:
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
