Daily Duties at Manager:
Upon taking over the store, there were issues with turnover, theft, retention, and profit. In my time at Family Video, I put a halt to turnover by motivating my employees and providing them the tools to succeed, and in turn only had to hire one more person throughout my tenure there. I installed cameras around the store and we were able to apprehend the culprit that had been stealing from every store in the area for months. I implemented some new visual strategies within the store, and provided continuing education for my employees on how to address complaints and improve customer service. By controlling inventory, payroll, and addressing P&L pitfalls, I was able to reduce cost to the store while simultaneously providing training programs for my employees on selling strategies, and promoting healthy competition, which led my employees to be in the top 250 out of 8,000 sales-wise throughout the company. Reason for Leaving: Once my family member was back on his feet, I wanted to return to the South to establish a career and pursue my Masters.
