Daily Duties at Vetco:

I launched the South Carolina Vetco market by opening a clinic location in every Petco store (12), in 2 months. This involved building relationships with each store, as well as purchasing all equipment, hiring and training all staff, and marketing the services to the local communities. I consistently analyzed P&L and EBITDA statements to identify areas of opportunity where the company’s profit could be increased while reducing cost. Reason for Leaving: The CEO of TaxTalent recruited me out of Vetco. Originally, he offered me a Sales and Marketing manager position, in which I was not interested; however, after I turned that down, he came back 3 weeks later offering to create the Director of Operations role for me instead.

What they like about Vetco:

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
