Daily Duties at Absorption Systems Inc.:

I was hired to develop new animal models that mimic human ocular disease, in particular retinopathy rodent models. I also conducted several phone or in person consultations with clients to discuss the science behind the drug they intend to test in an ocular disease model and guide them to which model would be the most appropriate. I outlined the study design, conducted the surgery, imaging, data analysis, and worked with a scientific writer to draft a final report that was sent to the client. I had 2 technicians that reported directly to me and helped me carry out the technical aspects of each project.
