Daily Duties at Baxalta (Now Shire):
Initially recruited by Executive VP for Commercial Strategies and Customer Operations to assist in the start-up of a global, independent orphan and specialty biotechnology company (Baxalta) to prepare launch materials, gain market access, and ensure patient access to Hemophilia and bleeding disorder products generating $6 Billion in revenues. Retained and promoted following spin-off of Baxalta, charged with managing 12 direct and 27 indirect reports across the globe, including Canada, Euorpe, Middle East / Africa and Japan with direct accountability for negotiating pricing and reimbursement attainment with government and commercial payers, and presenting value evidence to health technology assessment organizations. Administered a $5 million budget. Coordinated cross-functional activities for market access activities, including clinical development, commercial, medical affairs, health economic and outcomes research, government affairs and public policy, pricing and reimbursement, tenders management and patient advocacy activities to support the launch of four products, six marketed products and five products in clinical development. Conducted payer / pricing research and European advisory board to develop value engagement tools, including health economic models, value dossiers, and payer engagement slide decks and publications.
