Daily Duties at United States Air Force Office Of Special Investigations (Afosi):

As an Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) officer special agent, I had both supervisory and non-supervisory experience investigating criminal, fraud, and counterintelligence matters involving Department of Defense programs, contracts, and personnel. While an active duty AFOSI special agent from 1989 to 1995, I conducted both criminal and civil investigations relating to violations of Title 10 (Uniform Code of Military Justice), Title 18 (Federal Criminal Code), and Title 31 (False Claims Act) of the United States Code. The predominant offenses that I investigated included acquisition contract and procurement fraud, procurement integrity violations, conspiracy, collusion, bribery, kickbacks, bid rigging, false statements, false claims, ethics violations, conflicts of interest, mail/wire fraud, false testing, product substitution, and theft of government property. From 1995 to 2010, I performed supervisory duties as an AFOSI reserve officer special agent. From 1995 to 2005, I performed supervisory duties as the Central Systems Procurement Fraud Investigations Branch Chief and the Detachment Commander, while assigned to AFOSI Detachment 114 located at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, where I oversaw criminal, fraud, counter-intelligence, and counter-terrorism investigations at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center. From 2005 to 2009, I performed supervisory duties as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC), while assigned to AFOSI Detachment 101 located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, where my duties included directing and supervising criminal, fraud, counter-intelligence, and counter-terrorism investigations and operations effecting the Air Force Materiel Command Headquarters, the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, the Aeronautical Systems Center, as well as 22 Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard bases. From 2009 to 2010, I performed fraud program management duties as the Deputy Chief of the AFOSI Headquarters Fraud Division located at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, where my duties included managing all aspects of the AFOSI fraud program, developing and conducting AFOSI acquisition fraud training for Air Force and Department of Defense personnel, authoring and managing agency fraud program policies, and conducting liaison and coordinating AFOSI acquisition fraud programs with counterpart Air Force, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies. I maintained a Top Secret Security Clearance for this position.
