Daily Duties at Fresenius Medical Center:

Education Coordinator for FMC. Lead EC for the PG County Area and all its clinics. Attended ALT 1 in Cleveland, Ohio 2/29-3/4/16. Certified by the MBON to teach independently. I am a Certified American Heart Association CPR Instructor, and have taught over 90 students. I teach all RNs, LPNs, PCTs, RDs, SWs, Biomedical and Secretaries in the classroom (didactic and theory) and then do their Clinical Education on the treatment floors while they are treating pts. I do their skills component check off lists in their clinics to ensure competency. I remediate when needed and give positive reinforcement when applicable. I ensure Policy and Procedures are followed. I ensure Strict Infection Control Best Practices are being adhered to and reeducate/in-service if I find deficits. I support several clinics with in-services and on site education on Infection Control, Standard precautions, Contact precautions, Hepatitis B precautions and Buffer Zones. I attend QAI meetings for all of those clinics. I conduct Mock CMS/KDQ surveys and Infection Control audits in all the clinics in MD, VA and DC, and give them suggestions for opportunities for improvement, then plan individualized education for the staff. I have taught classes as large as 45 students with an average passing percentage of >98%. I assist CNAs and new PCTs in the application process to acquire their CNA-DT through the MBON and RNs to acquire their MBON License in their state.
