Daily Duties at St. Mary’s Hospital:
Director of Med/Surgical/Telemetry Unit which had 34 beds and approximately 75 staff members. On call 24/7. Responsible for budget, patient outcomes, patient advocacy, nurse/physician communications and payroll ect… Worked as staff nurse when necessary to keep up nursing skills. Attended multiple administrative in-services and workshops, one of which was Nurse Managers Leadership Institute Course at Maryland Healthcare Education Institute in Elkridge, MD. Was on several comities both nursing and administrative. Was also on the JACHO task force to ensure we passed our surveys without any deficiencies or citations, and we did both times with no recommendations for my unit.
