Daily Duties at Washington State Department Of Health:

As a complaint investigator I contacted the complainant to discuss their concerns and to collect other information regarding their concerns. I made a onsite visit unannounced to the health care provider and I exampled the concerns and requested specific documentation, policies, reviewed medical records and conducted specific interviews with management and staff and patients. After the investigation findings were collected and reviewed the complaint investigator with the supervisor would determine if the complainant's concerns were substantiated or not, whether or not a regulation or law was violated and recommendations would be made. The complaint investigator would write reports that agreed both state and Medicare regulations and laws. Reports were sent out to the health care providers and they would write a Plan Of Correction to correct the citations that would met the intent of the regulations or laws.
