Daily Duties at Dimension Data (2002 2016):
• Owned responsibility for strategic and tactical activities in submitting documentation that wins profitable business • Applied critical thinking and demonstrated thought leadership, ensuring capacity to respond effectively and efficiently to complex RFxs related to the support of emerging markets, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, along with Enterprise and Strategic Services • Led team executing high quality, quickly and efficiently, in collaboration with colleagues in sales, services, PMO, marketing, and global counterparts • Compered Americas Opportunity Review Board (ORB) mechanism for making investment decisions behind complex solution sales opportunities as well as reviews: Delivery Assurance and pre-Opportunity Review Board Deep Dive reviews (similar to Shipley color reviews) • Designed forms used for executive governance reviews and tracking mechanism in SharePoint for these opportunities to capture historical results • Worked with stakeholder practices such as Legal, PMO, and lines of business/service to institutionalize automated workflow in statement of work review process • Directed team of pursuit managers and coordinators responsible for RFx responses in the Americas $500,000 plus • Successfully managed out low performers and hired experienced/credentialed new team members • Built team’s skills, capabilities, and learning opportunities to maximize personal and team growth • Managed workloads and followed deadlines to assure on-time delivery of responses to clients • Deliberated qualification of opportunities with sales, services, PMO, and marketing leadership to assure the right opportunities were given proper time and attention, increasing win rate • Created, implemented, and improved upon best practice approaches to RFx production in line with opportunity and account segmentation, utilizing a combination of staff and third party resources, thus increasing capacity • Developed and executed plans for further automating responses utilizing workflow technologies and content management • Led team to implement a process and model to respond to unsolicited proposals and properly capture risk management (followed Shipley models) • Generated strategic opportunity proposals along with collateral materials during peak times
