Daily Duties at State Of Vermont/Agency Of Transportation:
Managed enterprise Applications for Virus Scanning & Malware/Spyware - Installed new product updates as required, performed daily checks to make sure daily definition files were updating the workstations; Coded Webpages in HTML, ASP, and JavaScript, and designed, coded, implemented and maintained programs in Visual Basic, Performed database administration in SQL2005 by checking the performance and adjusting table or database size as required; Performed database administration in Oracle10G when I upgraded a Motor Vehicle application that used a Oracle10G database. I followed the instructions for installation and did not go outside of that scope; Administered the Vermont Agency of Transportation's Website which included being responsible for the content on the home page, all connecting pages to the divisional websites, publishing all pages to the web server after the developers had updated the content, assisted the developers as needed, facilitated web developers meetings as needed, maintained external web sites hosted by the Agency and was also responsible for creating monthly reporting of the web sites activity; Set up and installed software on Windows Servers & Workstations (Windows 2000/NT and up) Troubleshoot and repair PC/Server hardware/software problems; Evaluate and recommend software, maintained hardware/software inventory; Responsible for managing and backup system for some of the Agency's file systems which included scheduling the backups, collaboration with the other divisions on when to run their backups so they would not collide anything else running, running and monitoring the backups while they were running and taking action if needed, running restores for the users if needed, maintaining a proper rotation of tapes or disk as per the retention that was agreed upon.
