Daily Duties at Baker Hughes:

Run item availability reports for component selection for material needed for tool repair, or work on a customer’s oil & gas well. Stage selected inventory items for a consolidated shipment to customers on a scheduled basis. Locations covered – South America, UAE. Dubai, Singapore and Germany. Supervised logistical personnel in creation of all required shipping export documents and review for accuracy and completion. Expedite components as required for urgent jobs and requirements. Work with Warehouse and engineering to specify and select approved alternates to specific items as necessary. • Purchase finished goods and raw materials, such as machined parts, castings, forgings, bar metals, and shop supplies. • Make sourcing decisions that demonstrate a solid understanding of commercial terms, price quotes, discounts, schedules, etc. • Negotiate terms with vendors, considering lead-times and operational capacity, delivery terms, and payment terms. Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the vendors and the Company so as to establish win-win agreements and relationships. • Help resolve billing, delivery, and return issues with suppliers.
