Daily Duties at Onslow County Department Of Social Services:
Interviewed and assessed alleged perpetrators and victims of child abuse and neglect; conducted needs analysis and provided crisis intervention. Developed in-home family service agreements and safety plans. Referred families for counseling as an intervention to minimize stress to those suffering from social and economic problems related to public health, severe mental illness, developmental delays and medical illness. Worked with local health departments to provide resources and medical treatment for children and families. Conducted home visits and follow-up assessments of troubled families. Provided litigation support to agency attorney including document management, summarizing case status, preparing court reports and providing expert testimony during adjudicatory hearings. Referred clients to various county programs such as Troubled Teens, L.I.N.K.S., and EFMP.
