Daily Duties at San Francisco Public Utilities Commission:

• Lead analyst for the Enterprise Workforce Planning unit out of the GM’s office, leading enterprise-wide change initiatives at a diverse, award-winning public sector organization of 2,300 employees • Serving as project manager coordinating enterprise-wide change initiatives to embrace new, competency-based approaches to talent management • Designing the procedures and frameworks to align Human Resource Services’ recruiting, selection, development, and performance management processes and designing an effective and fair public-sector succession planning program • Developing, validating, and implementing leadership and occupational competency models to support talent development needs for workgroups across the organization and to plan for succession in pivotal positions • Delivering compelling, data-driven business cases and presentations to PUC employees and City-wide partners to support our change initiatives, secure buy-in, and address resistance • Designing and deploying organizational surveys to support needs assessment and program evaluation efforts; analyzing quantitative and qualitative data using a variety of statistical techniques; designing data visualizations and reports • Building and curating a collection of vetted development resources linked to our competencies to place tools for leadership and technical growth directly in the hands of our staff • Reconciling data from multiple sources, including in-house surveys, consultant reports, and HR databases; analyzing these qualitative and quantitative data and designing data visualizations to communicate results with clarity and interest • Analyzing historic workforce data using Excel and SPSS to identify both vertical and lateral career path trends; designing technology solutions to display these career options to improve transparency and address turnover of early-career staff
