Daily Duties at Epic Systems Corporation:
Responsible for developing tools to automate processes for company technology development, QA, documentation and release teams. This included managing input from stakeholders, analyzing requirements, leading design meetings, as well as designing and development. Tools to perform these functions: • Tracked defects, development logs and quality testing using VB6 and Cache’ • Interfaced with the Subversion source code repository using C# • Automated source code retrieval from the repository, compile any or all executables (>2000 executables) and build product installs (>25 installs) for use by developers and quality assurance testers. Re-wrote VB6 version into C#, Cache’ and SQL to interface with databases. Designed, developed, reviewed, tested and maintained programs using C#, VB6, .NET Framework and InterSystems Cache’ under a 2-tiered Database-Application environment. Performed a range of functions to support fellow developers. This included developing coordinated test plans to integrate processes (from development log to building of installs), analyzing performance metrics to identify potential bottlenecks, troubleshooting solutions to improve performance, and supporting internal stakeholders. Supported customers by providing best practices for installing the company’s software and to provide assistance as needed.
