Daily Duties at Carlsbad Medical Center:
Develop newly acquired physician practices in Carlsbad. Was promoted to New Mexico Regional Director of medical clinics and assumed responsibility for management of 11 medical practices. In addition, had responsibilities for physician recruiting, contract management and industry liaison for Southeastern New Mexico. While managing 11 medical clinics and supervising 13 physicians, responsible for a $550,000 budget restructured and implemented accountability systems for performance management, promoted inside talent and cross trained staff to make the office more efficient and professional. This doubled the customer base, improved morale. Built strong relationships with vendors to lower costs and improve bottom line. Developed strong trusting relationships with local industry leaders through joining local committee's representing industry and conducting site visits including mining tours to access each company's needs. Improved customer service and provided much needed services that had been lacking. This improved the reputation of the hospital which increased revenue and improved customer satisfaction. Developed distinct marketing strategies for individual practices by identifying and facilitating physician contracts with area managed care providers Developed recruiting strategy and campaign and engaged community assistance for the process. Integrated Physician practices into corporate and hospital operations, including profitability analysis, QI and customer service. Recruited 9 physicians (Family Medicine and specialists) in a two year period. Acquired 3 existing clinics. Started 4 clinics of various specialties, which enhanced community relations and improved revenue 15%. Evaluated the acquisition of new practices and relationship management of local industries, acquiring three existing physician practices and developed one new practice within eighteen-month period; standardized billing processes; developed policies and procedures and provided staff development. Increased use of clinics and reduced ER usage, by increased physician practices use by 15%.
