Daily Duties at Hope Public Schools:
Developed innovative strategies for teaching and learning based on best practices and research. Had to revamp the failing academy structure into a robust pathways academy system to be more relevant to project and work based learning. Re-established student and teacher accountability by building morale throughout the building. Building the relationships, the rigor and the relevance has started to change the culture of the building in a posi-tive way. Using TESS and BloomBoard to help build the teacher talent in our building. Over the past year, we gave decrease major ill-discipline infractions by one third, increased attendance and lowered truancy. The de-mographics at HHS are very diverse (23% Caucasian, 47% African American, 30% Hispanic) so meeting the needs of all students is priority by sending our teachers to relevant PD then having them come back and share the experience with their colleagues. Responsible for a budget of over 1.8 million dollars at the building level and the supervision and evaluation of 80 staff members. Director of ALE. INDISTAR Process manager. Only principal in Arkansas to complete the ESL Academy in 2015-16 school year (over 300 candidates).
