• First project involved building an application for IT support, to poll computer systems for system information, save that system information into an Oracle database, and display it to allow front-end custom report creation via the web. Tools used include Java, MS Visual C++, JDBC, Sockets, NetBeans, Eclipse, Perl, WMI, VBScript, Oracle, SQL, TOAD, JavaScript, and ActiveX. Originally written in Perl with an Oracle specific database, and later rewritten to a Java client and server GUI with an admin interface and synchronized thread optimization. Used C++ to create a Windows registry search and addition utility. Skills learned include application life cycle, development life cycle, programming and troubleshooting specific cases, network administration requirements, working with a DBA for backups, and front-end custom report creation.
