Daily Duties at U.S. Marshals Service:

Served as the District Administrative Officer responsible for supervising the District's administrative support staff. Coordinates and oversees all administrative support for the main District office and the sub-offices. The Administrative Officer plans the work to be accomplished by the subordinates; establish priorities; assigns work; and evaluates work performance; provides advise, counsel and guidance to subordinates; interviews the candidates for administrative positions and make selections; hears and resolves complaints and refers unresolved complaints to supervisor, effects minor disciplinary measures; identifies developmental and training needs for subordinates, and takes initiative to provide identified needs; develops short and long range plans for District administrative operations. Develops District administrative policies and procedures and District administrative standard operating procedures. The Administrative Officer interprets regulations, policies, and directives in order to provide guidance and assistance to District USMS managers and employees. Ensures that annual certifications are sent to USMS Headquarters program office. Serves as the principal District financial officer as well as the expert advisor to senior management. Advises in the areas of accounting and funds control; federal appropriations law and financial policy subject matter; administers various Department Of Justice and USMS financial programs/initiatives at the District level; tracks the use of federal funding for goods and services procured; delegates as a certifying officer to request payments by the Department Of Treasury for expenses incurred by other federal agencies. Coordinates internal and external audits. Develops budget request for the District. Compiles, consolidates, reviews, analyzes, and evaluates data in order to accurately forecast and document the need for funds to meet District requirements. Monitors the execution of the District's approved budget to ensure that funds are obligated and spent in an appropriate and effective manner. Advise and assistance are provided on all procurement matters. Provides oversight of the District's property management program. Ensures the accountable property records are established and maintained and inventory is disposed of as required. The Administrative Officer plans and manages the overall human resources program for the District which includes position descriptions, awards, performance standards and appraisals, personnel actions and time and attendance management. Conducts annual review of District records and destroys as appropriate. Establishes and maintains access controls for automated and internal security controls such as safe's, vaults, etc., as well as information security controls related to sensitive but unclassified information. Securely maintains personnel data and training requests.
