Standardized alloxan and streptozoticin induced diabetes in mice and rat model. Isolated new bioactive compound namely Cycloart-23-ene-3β, 25 diol from Pongamia pinnata plant using HPTLC and column chromatography method. In-vivo: Measured fasting blood sugar, body weight, lipid profile, total hemoglobin, glycocylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), cardio toxic maker (LDH, CK-MB), liver function test (AST, ALT, billirubin), kidney function test (BUN), hematology (RBC, WBC), oxidative stress parameter (SOD, GSH). Worked on several pain and inflammation animal models [Plethysmometer (Ugo Basile), von Frey test, Analgesy-Meter (Randall-Selitto method), Hot plate test and Tail flick spinal cord homogenate). Developed and validated rat and mouse models of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, RA, inflammation. Estimated of plasma/tissue cytokine, insulin, GLP-1 levels using ELISA Measured mRNA expression using quantitative real-time PCR. Developed Gomori stain for insulin secreting pancreatic β cells, H and E stain Analyzed data using statistical Software Graph-Pad. Knowledge of 8 channel recorder Power lab having LABCHART-8 pro software (AD Instruments).
