Daily Duties at Bio Safety Level 4 (Bsl 4) Laboratory, National Institute Of Virology:

 BSL-4 viruses (CCHF, KFD, Niphah) isolated from 2-3 weeks suckling mice.  Maintained repository of outbreak BSL-3 and 4 level animal and human virus samples.  Managed ABSL-2 laboratory and worked with animal model of highly infectious disease.  Produced CCHF, KFD, Niphah polyclonal antibodies from mice.  Quantified CCHF, KFD, Niphah virus antibodies concentration using immunofluroscence.  Worked on pathogenesis of viral hemorrhagic fevers using immunohistochemistry, H and E stain. Recorded ECG in normal mice.  Wrote SOP’s for ABSL-2, Blood collected and tissue harvested from infected mice. In vitro: Cell culture technique (Vero cells, Bat cells) Animal handling: Mice (CD-1,ICR, swiss albino, C57BL6/J) Bats, Rabbits, Immunofluroscence for quantification of concentration of CCHF, KFD, Niphah antibodies Microscopy (Fluorescence, Light microscope), H and E stain •Animal handling Skill: Mice (C57BL6/J, CD-1,ICR, swiss albino) •Dosing techniques (mice): Intra-cerebral, IP, PO, IV, SC, IM
