Daily Duties at University Of South Florida:
In-vivo: Measure blood glucose, body weight, glucose tolerance test, insulin tolerance test, electrocardiogram (ECG), LDH, Troponin-I, blood chemistry. Animal model: (mice: db/db, DIO, Knockout β1 and β2, C57BL6/J; Rats: Sprague Dawley), dosing (IP, PO, IV, SC, IM), necropsy, tissue harvesting, blood collection technique (Retro-orbital plexus, tail vein, cardiac puncture) from mice and rats. Ex-vivo: Langendorff technique, Cardiac monophasic action potential, programmed electrical stimulation (PES), Ischemic reperfusion technique, measure LV pressure. In vitro: Cell based bioassay, maintenance and growth of H9C2. ELISA (insulin, Nampt), quantitative real-time PCR, Western blot, Colorimetric assay. Staining technique and image analysis: Immunohistochemistry, Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining for measurement of infarction size of heart, Gomori stain for pancreatic β cells, H and E stain and quantitative image analysis (Image J software). Statistical Software: Graph-Pad, Sigmaplot, Excel, 8 channel recorder Power lab having LABCHART-8 pro software (AD Instruments).
