Daily Duties at U.S. Army Medical Research And Materiel Command, Telemedicine And Advanced Technology Research Center :
Served as Director and Projects Supervisor for the Clinical Applications Division of the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC), U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. Managed more than 150 advanced technology research projects encompassing the funding of more than $120M. Developed and integrated largest known research portfolios in both medical simulation training and telesurgery. Convened and conducted five visioning meetings that yielded roadmaps for funding sponsored research. Conducted annual meetings at six national conventions. Assigned to TATRC in 1999 from the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (1996-1999), Director, Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program. My work at U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (1997-2006) required careful management of budgeting of Congressionally-directed dollars and close adherence to cost, schedule and performance of more than 100 research projects. Further, medical needs were forecast and resourced through this fiscal management program. Small business funding; such as SBIR and STTR and other funding mechanisms were utilized to support portfolio goals.
