Daily Duties at Black And Decker:

Managed 16 Supervisors, 60 China Quality Engineers, 4 Mexico Quality Engineers, and 4 North American Quality Engineers including overseeing China based contract manufacturers ensuring fulfillment of new products to specifications, as well as achieving and exceeding customer expectation at optimal cost of quality. Implemented new supplier plant startup throughout Mexico and Asia, served as senior member of quality leadership reporting to the Director of Operations for $20M fast-paced valve and actuator manufacturer. Created business plans for operations and established long-term quality strategic plan for company. Led Lean Six Sigma team in cost reduction exceeding 1% of sales in 2007 and 2008. Re-defined quality standards and implemented Six Sigma Green Belt training program, ensured achievement of Quality targets, and monitored compliance with quality standards and procedures throughout factory. Maintained ISO 9000 certification, tracked lab metrics, and implemented necessary steps for continuous improvement of productivity and throughput. Managed CCM Lab and led all Quality Lab problem solving and continuous improvement efforts, and ensured proper qualification process for new base materials, equipment, processes and tools. Delivered key contributions to new plant startup in Xiamen, China collaborating closely with China, Taiwan, Philippians, and Korea suppliers improving process controls resolving any quality issues. Monitored supplier quality and overall performance by compiling and evaluating data related to supplier nonconforming material reports, quality related Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), corrective/preventive action responses, and root-cause investigations in development of effective actionable information. Effectively developed 30+ suppliers in China and 5 in Mexico for new product lines, led project teams managing changes enhancing supplier performance and material / product quality. Resolved supplier related issues through on-site process inspections, conducting material investigations, and verifying overall effectiveness of supplier corrective / preventive initiatives / actions.
