Daily Duties at Dorman Products:
• Managed 100+ concurrent resourcing and new product sourcing projects within 30 product categories across 3 cross-functional product teams including automotive hard parts, fasteners, electrical components and packaging • Developed sourcing strategies throughout a worldwide supply base combining the strength of both factory direct tooling and off the shelf distributors to balance cost savings with product quality and on-time delivery • Created an automated make vs. buy analysis tool in MS Access (and cross-functional monthly review SOP) that has led to over $100k in annual material, labor and inventory cost reductions • Hired, trained and developed three Sr. Buyers of various backgrounds and levels of experience to become successful and highly regarded contributors within the organization • Established myself as a super-user with departmental and organization systems and tools, leading to being chosen as the Purchasing representative for the new ERP system selection/implementation team
