Daily Duties at Mission Manager, Inc.:

This company was formed to handle first responder software program development, carrying on from the legacy started by Vigilys, Inc. Following the satisfactory acquisition of a software application called Mission Manager, I assumed the primary responsibility of developing the next generation architecture for a hosting environment for this Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud based first responder application. I began the process with a review of the available hosting companies and finally determined that Amazon Web Services (AWS) provided the most optimized infrastructure for our SaaS business. After researching the available building blocks at AWS, I began the architectural design of the environments necessary to create a high availability, self-replicating, secure, FEDRAMP and HIPPA compliant hosting solution. As a testament to our approach we applied for and have subsequently received the DHS Safety Act Development Testing and Evaluation Green Seal designation. With the completion of the architectural design, I selected an AWS preferred partner to implement the programming for us. This multiphase project is currently on-going. As part of my IT management responsibilities for our company, I have developed and continue to manage a “hybrid” on-site active directory server/cloud hosted environment that utilizes the company’s local domain servers working in conjunction with Microsoft Office365 Business Premium services to create a secure, collaborative workflow for the company’s geographically distributed work force. With my focus now squarely on technology development, I am establishing a joint venture group to develop, market and sell the next generation FireALERT wildfire detection sensor system that will work in unison with the missionmanager.net SaaS application. FireALERT was originally developed by our parent company, Vigilys.

What they like about Mission Manager, Inc.:

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
