Daily Duties at Gs1 Us:

Accountable for overall application architecture, project management, development and delivery for four commercial applications. Gather requirements from product owners and customers. Create high level project estimates, detail project plans and manage project resources & budgets. Day to day running of the software development teams based in Chicago and India. Manage the development and deployment of web applications. Ensure deadlines are met and proactively anticipates and deals with potential delivery bottlenecks/failures. Work with product owners and quality assurance teams to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are met. Work with the product owners to ensure customers are informed of progress. Ensure best practices in agile development. Step into roles as a technical lead, scrum master and program manager when required. Ensure best practices in continuous integration, branching and forking techniques, migration of application deployments between environments. Understand and follow industry trends ensuring that software best practices are put in place and are being followed on a day to day basis (code reviews, architectural patterns etc.) Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills Establish standards targeted at maintaining a consistent quality and audit-ready performance. Set measurable objectives and standards for team members’ performance and conduct. Interview, hire and mentor internal and external developers. Train internal and external developers on those standards and best practices. Manage Quality Assurance for Software Engineering team.
