Daily Duties at Grays Distilling Ltd:
My core responsibilities was focused on monitoring the different critical parameters in the alcohol refinery in the fermentation section, distillation section and the boiler room. Although those parameters were controlled automatically through PLC, deviations had to be monitored and corrected immediately in order to obtain the 96.5% pure alcohol output. Responsible for supervising a team of 33 operators, planning of production, monitoring of key performance indicators and planning of preventative maintenance. Another important aspect of my work was to test the final alcohol product with the use of Gas Chromatograph to certify that the product was good for consumption. I also contributed in the Research & Development department where I found ways in improving yield of alcohol and reducing downtime costs. Was part of a team to implement ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 (Environment standard). I have drafted Standard of procedures, working instructions and modified some production procedures to improve quality of products.
