Daily Duties at Assurant, Inc.:

• Assist in the development of the annual audit plan (including SOX) by maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the business and staying current with significant risks in assigned areas of the business • Lead IT audit and integrated audit teams in the identification of risks and gaps in major system implementation projects and business process reviews and communicate results to management in a clear, actionable and timely manner • Supervise and prepare process level risk assessments to identify significant risks and their related controls and develop audit test steps designed to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of those internal controls. • Recruit staff, develop talent, builds effective team, and manage a budget • Supervise the execution and review of audit work programs and the documentation of related work papers to support conclusions reached; • Perform audit steps as a working manager, when required • Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (business management, IT management, risk committees) and external stakeholders to drive audit value and effectiveness; • Develop and prepare communication, frequently to senior leadership and the audit committee, to deliver metrics and the desired message to the appropriate levels; • Prioritize activities by the on-going assessment of risks to the organization; • Serve as the day-to-day liaison with client management during audit projects to ensure open lines of communication are maintained and audit objectives are being met; • Develop approaches to promote knowledge sharing and best practices across Assurant’s Risk and Advisory Services group; • On an advisory level, provide consultation to customers and senior management on emerging risks and control concerns.
