Daily Duties at Lowe's:
Investigates and mitigates employee relation conflicts involving employment law, sexual harassment, Title VII, ADA, and safety in an effort to maintain an engaged and diverse workplace. Analyzes employee engagement trends to identify shortfalls, develop action plans, and make seasonal staffing decisions based on the store’s budget. Supports the development of staff by helping them plan their careers through effective training sessions and developing their interview skills. Executes store management training that covers the corrective action policy and its standard implementation. Improves the evaluation process by encouraging managers to provide feedback via employee reports, performance management tools, and the STAR review process. Develops and executes a recruiting strategy tailored to each store and market, which involves developing positive community relationships. Leads the hiring process by reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and presenting job offers in line with each store’s staff needs and payroll budget. Drove sales and profitability by collaborating with the Store Manager and Market Team to form a strategic workforce plan to bring in the right people for short and long-term goals. Identified barriers to the implementation of new programs and motivated staff in order to overcome resistance. Maintains a competitive advantage in the market by keeping pace with new HR initiatives and process. Collects and maintains accurate employee documentation ranging from personnel records to payroll files and other classified employee information. Diligently maintains accurate payroll and processes for compliance with wage requirements for each employee. Coordinates all aspects of each employee’s leave by complying with FMLA and tracking interdependencies in work’s compensation, disability insurance, and regulatory requirements. Supports the interactive ADA accommodation process via a centralized team in Employee Relations for compliance. Organized the store’s Lowe’s Hero’s Project. Supported a different store by stepping in as an HR manager and training the replacement. Attended the MDA camp every year for the store to learn new skills to impact operations.
