Daily Duties at Du Pont Pioneer:
Responsible for deploying molecular breeding to western corn breeding programs which entails communication among various functional groups of DuPont Pioneer, design and analyses of experiments to be used in genomic prediction and executing genomic prediction at both the inbred and hybrid stage. Duties: • Phenotypic and genotypic analyses of specialty traits • Generating predictions to assist breeders in making the best possible selections for inbred and hybrid advancement • Designing experiments to create estimation data sets, map QTL and determine regions of the genome that impact traits • Determining lines to be genotyped and examining genotypic results • Attending meetings and presenting results to breeders or other groups of DuPont Pioneer • Maintain a quarter diversity breeding program • Liaison between multiple functional groups of DuPont Pioneer including information management, breeding technologies, marker lab and other molecular breeding scientists • Supervision of employee to assist Molecular Breeding Scientist (June 2012 – February 2015)
