Daily Duties at Apollo Group:
Promoted into position (from Associate Vice President) to transform an inefficient service department into a P&L center focused on subscriptions services (ahead of its time, this model is now called, direct digital access by the publishing industry). Worked jointly with the software development team to pioneer rEsource, the University of Phoenix's proprietary platform for electronic course materials and digital books. Designed the strategy and business model for licensing and developing digital assets to populate rEsource. Managed digital file conversion of third-party content and offshore production. Served on the CEO's task force through the discovery and prototypying phases of rEsource. Led negotiations with major textbook publishers to license textbook content through a volume purchasing deal. Realized a profit in year two of operation and delivered $150M in revenue by year four via a subscription model.
What they like about Apollo Group:
You highly value a work environment built on a formal structure, rules, and regulations. You do not enjoy the unpredictability of shifting priorities and deadlines that upset your routine. You require and enjoy direction, input and accountability as part of your work environment. You have a strong need to participate in making key decisions and feel left out if your superiors or co-workers do not seek your input when making decisions. You thrive on providing good customer service to both internal or external customers, and doing so makes you feel good.
