Daily Duties at Park Plaza Hospital:

• Leading in a quest for excellence in quality service in the clinical laboratory through education, timely, efficient, and effective teamwork. • Guiding personnel in that quest and searching to continue in the challenging day to day situations that cause the constant advancement in the medical field called the clinical laboratory. • Searching for ways to manage dollars, testing, procedural changes, constantly balancing scheduling with advances in testing either manually or via instrumentation while being mindful of the lives and livelihoods of personnel and families QC/QA/CAP/POCT/Document Control supervisor: Managing all aspects of a CAP/CLIA accredited laboratory department. • Ordering, Maintenance, CAP guidelines, writing and revising procedures, making department decisions regarding instrumentation, bringing on new processes and performing all tasks required to bring them into an accredited laboratory correctly, training new lab personnel, Proficiency testing ordered, performed and maintained, maintaining documentation required to fulfill all accreditation. • Called upon to work with nursing, physicians, general staff in the Point of Care testing quality for patient care and providing reviewed/revised/newly written policies and procedures to maintain quality within the laboratory for patient care.
