Daily Duties at Southern Company:

As a component engineer in corporate headquarters, I was responsible for supporting engineering work at 3 nuclear operating plant sites (6 reactors) in the southeast. I performed calculations and reviews for motor operated valves, developed new methods for refurbishment of safety/relief valves, improved testing methods for safety/relief valves, interpreted ASME OM Code to ensure proper testing requirements were understood by the sites, and provided support on an as-needed basis to resolve emergent issues at the sites.
