Daily Duties at Lpl Financial:
• Advising clients on tax treatment differences as investment products and its derivatives changes. • Building financial models to calculate new share price changes in the event of corporate actions, including distributions, spin-offs, shares exchange, and updating corresponding 1099 tax form in a timely manner. • Responsible for updating over 100 client accounts per day for their changing cost basis • Creating and maintaining excel spreadsheets and calculators for different corporate actions to improve accounting process efficiency. Building macro calculation models to automate information processing. • Assisting and responsible for state 1099-R filing, including both electronic and paper filing. • Maintaining knowledge of ongoing IRS guidance on asset basis adjustment and capital tax updates. • Performing reconciliation between 1099 tax form information and LPL internal system records.
