Daily Duties at Honeywell1:
• Technical customer relationship manager for new business initiatives within the Alliance and assist the Honeywell Alliance team in setting growth strategy. These results in a clear understanding of new business opportunities aligned with Honeywell delivery capabilities and stakeholder expectations. • Technical leadership of business development efforts for opportunities within the Alliance including definition of scope, milestones, deliverables, work breakdown structures, resources, schedules, cost estimates, risk evaluation, and reviews. • Develop 3rd party delivery entities to bridge Honeywell portfolio gaps and avoid missed opportunities for revenue. • Effectively communicating program objectives, schedule, status and risks with leadership, customer, 3rd party delivery entities and other stakeholders to gain approval and buy-in. • Coordinate with functional experts to determine program risks and to develop appropriate mitigation plans. • Establish and document work processes for new business initiatives within the Alliance with Honeywell resulting in efficient solution development and proposal preparation integrated with Honeywell and client workflows and procedures. • Planning and facilitating team coordination and communication for business development efforts through organized team activities, including kickoff/planning meetings, regular team status meetings, problem/risk resolution meetings and one-on-one meetings. • Look for opportunities to improve efficiency and team performance through development and deployment of global standards and processes across the global client team. Estimation portion of Solution Manager Job Description: • The deliverables are: o Coordinate and work with a de-centralized team consisting of Sales, Operations, and Services team members o Define and ensure the teams are estimating the scope in a consistent manner by developing and implementing standard estimating processes and tools. o Ensure processes and tools are flexible to accept changes with a fast and accurate outcome o Work with the LAR, EMEA, and APAC regions to obtain estimating support and develop a cost basis for each regions scope of work o Putting together eGap material o Travel as necessary to consolidate and finalize estimates • Problems he will need to anticipate and solve: o Decentralized team o Multiple teams and individuals providing input into the estimate o Subcontractor estimating interface o Escalation o Diverse and Global workforce o FX (currency exchange) o Short FEL duration o Working without a great deal of Management direction or supervision o Meetings scheduled outside of traditional 8-5 work hours • Skills helpful in this role: o Ability to breakdown complex issues into manageable and understandable components o The ability to articulate those components upward to management and downward for the disciplines to understand o The ability to interview individuals to obtain information to understand issues in order to meet duties o Understand Project Schedules o Knowledge of Project work from the Purdue L1 to L4 model o Analytical skills o Ability to create a custom estimation tool o Work in a team o Motivated o Determined o Reliable o Goal Oriented o Procedure Oriented
