Legal Assistant/Litigation Paralegal supported two partners in the prosecution of all patent, trademarks, and copyrights. Prepared and filed utility, provisional, continuation, continuation-in-part patent applications, and other related documents, including declaration and power of attorneys, assignments, petitions, and amendments in the USPTO. Obtained requests for patent searches through company resources. Conducted and obtained trademark searches through Thomson Reuters. Prepared and filed trademark applications, extensions of time, statements of use, affidavits, responses to office actions, post-registration maintenance, Section 8 & 15’s and renewals. Obtained weekly docket reports and took proper actions prior to deadlines. Supported foreign counsel with trademark and patent searches, registrations and patents, renewals and annuities in foreign countries. Prepared all documents in court and the TTAB in the prosecution and defense of client’s intellectual property. Conducted all legal research for litigation. Filed documents with the court through the electronic filing procedures. Searched court records through Pacer. In charge of all document production and discovery during trial and TTAB proceedings. Performed logistical and paralegal support during trial. Managed appointment calendars, conducted training, presentations and meetings with attorneys and staff. Assisted other attorneys within the firm in litigation and prosecution of their clients intellectual property matters. Assisted one partner yearly in marketing functions and sponsorships. Ensured that the partners’ days ran smoothly and proficient to include keeping their clients up to date on their intellectual property through correspondence and status reports.
