Daily Duties at Wxia Tv (Nbc Affiliate):
I started at WXIA TV as a Weekend News Anchor/ Weekday News Reporter on Sept. 2, 1982. In 1987 I was promoted to Full-Time Anchor status Anchoring the Noon & 5:30PM Newscasts Monday through Friday. I had twice daily deadlines. I wrote for my Newscasts and Anchored the Live Newscasts which means I read the news On-Air and asked questions of Reporters in the field. I conducted interviews On-Air and in video recordings. In the hours between the two shows I often went out into the field to produce video news stories for the Newscast. -I interviewed the subject -I instructed the photographer on what video he/she needed to record to edit and tell the story. -I wrote the story & guided the photographer through editing the story. -Then I went on the Air live to Anchor the News. -I was the number one fill-in Anchor for the 6 & 11PM Newscasts. -From time to time I produced and Anchored Documentaries & Special Reports. -No grass grew under my feet as a Journalist. It was a busy career.
