Daily Duties at Los Angeles County Sanitation District (Operations):
Supported sustained Operations Engineering for an environmental infrastructure mega project covered by National Geographic. Entry Level experience includes: • Co-Designer of environmental subgrade improvements to include drafting direction to CADD staff. • Supervising installation of various EPA recommended erosion control BMPs. • Quantities estimating for cut and fill, slope hydro-seeding, lift operations forecasting, and periodic road rehabilitation due to highly frequent traffic from waste delivery and service trucks. • Design support for a storm water detention basin (determining tributary area, conducting hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, sizing of inlets). Independent design of a minor swale (curb gutter). • Re-design support for an open channel, concrete, storm water conveyance structure (ditch). • Various field grade checking for on-slope silt fences, planned construction of a fenced equestrian trail, etc. • Coordination and conduction of a contractor bid walk for new rubberized asphalt installation project. • RFP and bid lead for new office trailer (utility connections and parking lot design & construction).
