Daily Duties at The Northern Trust Company:

Manage team of 19, and assist in overseeing 2 Bangalore team members who complete Hedge Fund accounting at the investor level and also transfer agency for the funds. I conduct employee yearly reviews, ratings, and pay or merit increases, and coach them at the current position and career advancement at the co. As a technical subject matter expert promoted to manager, as if often the case, my assistance is often needed in challenging matters especially on the accounting side, which was my background, until the transfer agent team was also rolled up underneath me 3 years ago. My assistance is often needed in setting up new business funds on the system or trouble shooting current issues. Investor allocations including uneven items such as IPO or foreign exchange classes, complex and diverse management and incentive fee calculations, time and asset weighted return calculation, unit series and rollup calculations, investor subscription and redemption payment execution, and investor document review for anti-money laundering practices under the Patriot Act, FATCA, and bank standards.
