Daily Duties at State Street Corporation:
As part of Global Infrastructure Services in this Fortune 500 financial services organization, directed IT support for over 12,000 users and 15,000 devices; all audio-visual facilities and multimedia productions, including 200 AV facilities; and 25 corporate training rooms used by both staff and clients. Supervised a team of 56 employees, including 40 in Corporate Desktop Operations Services, 13 in Corporate Audio-Visual Services, and 3 in Corporate Training Room Management. Planned and managed annual IT budgets of $3 million for new AV equipment, approximately $1 million for outsourced AV maintenance and service, and $200,000 for Corporate Desktop Services. Position reported to Vice President/Director of Business Enabling Services. Consistently realized 90% same-day support resolution rates, using remote tools in 50% of all cases. Spearheaded the creation of a Lotus Domino-based knowledge management system to enable the Tier 1 Help Desk and Tier 2 support organization to share and leverage common information, thereby reducing duplication and expediting service ticket resolution. Supervised the accurate fulfillment of over 5,000 desktop support calls and 1,400 AV requests a month; ensured 24x7 support and regularly reported on metrics to senior management Provided strategic recommendations to upper management on appropriate technologies and methodologies to implement Played a key role in developing and implementing IT standards, policies, and best practices across the Americas and globally Led major projects such as system deployments, upgrades, and migrations (e.g, migration of 10,000+ user base to Microsoft Office 2003 and Windows XP from Windows 2000); physical user relocations (average of 5,000 users and 8,000 devices annually); and the technological aspects of new facility build-outs Worked closely with Network, Server, and Telecommunication teams to ensure synergy of operations and to provide integrated solutions to the user base Championed and gained executive buy-in for a centralized AV support system as well as global AV support standards, both of which resulted in cost-savings and greater customer satisfaction. Researched, negotiated, and managed a three-year North American AV Services vendor agreement totaling $3.2 million covering both break/fix support and outsourced staffing. Supervised a total of $11 million in North American AV construction projects, including new $2 million CEO executive floor and boardroom. Planned for $2.5 million AV build-out of 17 training rooms with state-of-the-art distance learning and web streaming capabilities. Supported audio-visual technologies in more than 200 videoconference rooms, presentation rooms, training rooms, and public displays throughout the Americas Supported over 400 devices across 25 training rooms in Eastern Massachusetts plus device set-up
