Daily Duties at State Of California Department Of Public Health:

Health Facilities Evaluator Nurse : Conducts complaint investigation, participate in surveys, and other inspection to evaluate facility compliance with the State Licensure and Federal certification requirements. Primary responsibil;it is for uniform application and enforcements. State andd Federal Law, rules,and regulations pertaining to patients care such as nursing, physician's services, restorative care, pharmacy , social, dental, and related services in health facilities. Act as a team Leader and assist in training new staff. Participate in the conduct of in-depth surveys of health faci;cities to determine compliance with State Licensing and Federal Certification requirements of the Medicare and Medi-Cal programs. Investigate complaint,documenting fully for legal evidence relating to non-compliance. Write comprehensive narrative reports of findings, ability to work independently,applies professional judgement in solving complex issues. Attend and present both written and verbal testimony to provide support for civil monetary penalties,informal conference, citation review conferences, evidentiary hearing,informal dispute, and arbitration procedures,attend meetings and participate in local programs to increase dialogue and uniform compliance in licensed health care industries and health delivery system. Advice and assist health facilities administrators in matters relating to State requirements for inspection, licensing, construction of health facilities.
