Daily Duties at Westwood College:

Worked with Campus President and Corporate CFO to establish and maintain quarterly and annual budgets; Created Degree Completion Plans for each enrolled and returning student; Transitioned department from centralized scheduling done by the Registrar to department scheduling led by each Program Chair. In conjunction with the Degree Completion Plans transitioned from term by term student scheduling to an annual academic calendar; Led the campus through an unannounced successful audit by the Texas Workforce Commission. There were no findings or recommendations; Westwood Dallas had the highest graduation rate in the 14 campus system; Ensured that all students were registered and successfully completed Introductory Course Sequence consisting of an Introduction to College course and all required fundamental math and English courses before proceeding to advanced classes. Strictly enforced pre-requisite requirements and limits on Independent Study Courses; Oversaw ACICS audit of Schools of Criminal Justice and Paralegal with no findings or recommendations; Externship Placement in the Medical Assisting Program increased from 65% to 100%; of these, approximately 90% completed their Externships; Oversaw all library functions including acquisition of materials. Implemented faculty led tutoring program managed by the librarian; Supervised bi-annual PAC Meetings (Program Assessment Committee) with community representatives for each of the seven colleges of General Studies, Construction Management, IT, Criminal Justice, Medical Assisting, Business and Graphic Design; Hired Program Chairs for the Schools of Construction Management, IT, and Business as well as Content Matter Experts for Graphic Design and Construction Management; Supervised immediate staff of 14, 84 member faculty base, 350 students, the Librarian, the Registrar and two Federal Work Study students.
