Daily Duties at Layton City Corporation:
Develop and plan exercises to test city emergency operations plan. Prepare grant applications including cost benefit analysis, needs assessments, and partner with department representatives to obtain all required information. Complete and file related quarterly reports with Utah Department of Homeland Security. Develop and implement in partnership with department heads the city emergency operations plan. Partner with City departments to develop and implement emergency operations center operational directives. Tested plans through disaster exercises. Conduct annual safety and city safety policy training. Analyze safety policies and practices, update as necessary. Develop new safety policies and procedures. Identify and evaluate loss exposures through inspections. Investigate claims filed by citizens of Layton city. Conduct annual safety training to meet OSHA and city training requirements. Manage workers compensation, loss and general liability claims for self-insured city. Prepare injury and loss reports including OSHA 300, first report of injury, and quarterly statistical reports. In conjunction with Utah Department of Public Safety conduct FEMA courses for emergency responders.
