Daily Duties at Services Business Transformation:

, the expectation was to continuously improve the way Cisco Services contucts its business, to reduce cost and increase revenue. In more detail, each project/initiative would involve most or all of the following steps: 1. Identify / Get informed of symptoms: - Interview the people who are experiencing the symptoms to understand the impact. - Interview the management to understand the expectations and goal. 2. Define the problem(s) - Gather information about the problems from all the impacted individuals and organizations: gaps, pain points, inefficiencies, areas of improvement. - Perform as-is process analysis, identify and drill into the areas related to the problems in hand. If data exists, obtain relevant data and analyze. - Organize the findings, present to stakeholders, garner input and feedback. - Finalize and communicate the problem(s) and impact analysis results. Agree on metrics. 3. Develop the best solution - Identify all parties involved or impacted, form a network of authorized representatives. - Analyze inputs from different sources, analyze relevant data, identify the constraints that have to be adhered to. - Develop feasible solution options accompanied by an investment-benefit analysis; Propose a recommendation. - Present options and recommendation, facilitate discussions toward a decision on how to proceed. 4. Deliver - Document the requirements on how to deliver the solution: Business process and policy changes, system changes to support the business process, organizational adoption and support requirements. - Categorize the requirements and create a roadmap such that the first steps in the initiative address the heart of the problem in hand, and the rest is prioritized according to their impact and inter-dependencies. - Work with IT to make sure the requirements, dependencies, and priorities are thoroughly understood. Collaborate with IT through the life cycle of delivery. - Work with business and operations teams on managing change to realize benefits: Change management, communications, and training.
