Daily Duties at Oakley:
Program Manager / Category Manager 2014 - 2015 Inspired a brave and unconventional approach in reinventing a stagnant Prescription Eyewear industry using a measured balance of analytics, forward-looking strategic planning and an occasional leap of faith. Significantly grew the Category following the creation and successful test phase of the Prescription Eyewear Program. Key functions include: • Building strategy roadmap to achieve three-year goals. • Influencing buy-in from stakeholders, partners and internal customers to deliver strategy roadmap. • Working cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Real Estate, MBP&A, Manufacturing, Visual Merchandising, Field Leaders and other key departments to plan and execute initiatives. • Creating merchandise assortments. • Defining, evangelizing and executing the consumer experience across the chain. • Identifying, attracting and hiring Certified / Licensed Opticians. • Developing and implementing training programs. • Exceeding stakeholder expectations related to financial results, consumer experience and brand representation. Accomplishments include: • Orchestrated expansion to 50 locations following initial 3-store test. On trend to grow to over 100 doors by 2017. • Fostered growth of a category that ranked #16 out of 16 in the division in 2012 to #4 in 2015. Conceptualized several initiatives, which are in development and will roll out over the next two years. The Category is on trend to become the Division’s #2 revenue source by 2017. • Crafted vision, creation and implementation of an Internal Optician Certification Program. This program is currently funding and preparing 122 Oakley Associates in becoming ABO Certified Opticians. The initiative has created a new career path option for Oakley Retail Associates and will contribute significantly to the Category in its quest to become the Division’s #2 revenue source. • Drove revenue that will rank this new program in the Top 50 Optical Retailers in the U.S. in 2015. On trend to reach the Top 30 group by 2017.
What they like about Oakley:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
