Daily Duties at Fortunoff:
2003 – June 2008 FORTUNOFF, White Plains, NY Promoted to Receiving Manager (2006-June 2008) Supervised and managed four Leads (Assistant Managers) and staff of 25. Leads supervised included: Receiving Lead, responsible for all loading dock matters related to incoming and outgoing product flow. Pick-Up Lead, responsible for customer service related issues and store warehouse; two Stock Leads, responsible for all product sorting, replenishment and back stocking. Hired and trained new employees; worked closely with the personnel department. • Monitored web reports such as Transfers Not Shipped/Not Received, Open Liabilities, RTV and Sku Damaged reports. • Maintained warehouse aisles finessed and bins properly located in the system. • Personally responsible for the Direct Receipts for multi-million dollar rug events. • Participated in weekly planning meetings with the OPS manager and store VP. • Coordinated trailer runs and logistic support of fixture installation and removal. • Responsible for floor sample furniture removal and customer delivery. • Effectively delegated responsibilities with accountability. • Inventory management, controlled stock levels through the min/max system. • Filled internet and phone orders through UPS. • Managed shipping clerk to ensure all orders were sent via UPS in a timely manner. • Served in a quality control capacity as required. • Developed and expanded systems and procedures including: Improved existing “Daily Planner”, created procedural training guides and established a daily “To-Do List” as a guide for staff to meet goals. Receiving Lead (2003-2006) Participated in the launch of the Fortunoff White Plains location. Responsible for all loading dock functions, monitored all trucks coming in and assured all merchandise was accounted for. Provided direction to eight Receiving Department associates. Responsible for maintaining and ordering supplies. Worked closely with the Accounts Payable department on invoicing and PO’s. Made sure UPS sends and inter-store transfers were shipped in a timely manner. Oversaw processing of all orders; scheduling duties for the entire department.
