Daily Duties at Ibm Global Business Services:

• Participates in the development and implementation of short and long term database strategies of multi-user, multi-functional systems • Develops database solutions that meet business objectives that optimize the use and accessibility of data • Develops strategies for the continued planning, designing and documentation of standards for physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration in order to standardize environments and improve efficiency • Supports the technical and architectural implementation of databases on a variety of platforms (UNIX and MVS) • Demonstrated knowledge of related database architecture and development methodologies • Demonstrated proficiency in structured analysis and technical design techniques • Develop Korn shell scripts to monitor Data Propagator and validate the successful movement of data between MVS and AIX host systems • Automate the loading of very large database using Korn shell scripts, including error handling and notification • DB2 UDB version 8 and 9 DBA for very large Data Warehouse projects on AIX platform (up to 10 terabytes), utilizing the Data Partitioning Feature (DPF) across multiple data nodes • Performance tuning of DB2 databases on AIX platform • AIX Administration support tasks for DB2 Warehouses with DPF, such as determination of space allocation, userid support and file system management • Create DB2 Data Propagator scenarios to and from MVS and AIX host systems. • Design DB2 layout using DPF using OLAP and star-schema design • Utilize ERWIN Data Modeling software to update data warehouse model • Configure Federated Databases to ensure data integrity across databases • Utilize Brio Enterprise software to build reports • SAS Programming to analyze data from Enterprise Information Warehouse
